STORY:

Named for one of the first women invited to participate in Village of Love. For Kanini, feeding 9 children (6 of whom were orphaned) was almost impossible. Her only income was through the sale of foraged firewood. Often the family went 2 or 3 days without food. But with Village of Love micro-loans, livelihood training, life skills workshops and peer support, Kanini now makes and sells soap and recycles plastic bags into lovely tote bags. Her children are now healthy, happy and in school!
