These tongs are named for an orphaned girl whose life has been transformed through Village of Love. Fatuma (20 ) would not have had the chance to attend school in her traditional community. She would have married at puberty, undergone FGM and produced many children already. Instead, she is now trained in a non-traditional trade, plumbing and pipefitting, and is married to a man who is happy to have her work outside the home!
