Description

This photograph was taken on a very snowy morning in February of 2021. The bench dedicated to Martha Goodwin was a perfect resting point during the long morning cross country skiing adventure along the Spring Creek Canyon. The color of the water and the size of the snow flakes falling from the sky left an indelible impression that I captured with a camera and have reproduced on two dye-sublimated pieces of aluminum. Photos taken with an iPhone, edited in Aperture, and presented here.

Dimensions: Each panel is 20" x 30"

ABOUT THE ARTIST

An aerospace engineer turned nature nerd, Dan graduated from Penn State and decided to stay local to be a part of the growing State College community - taking a tack of following his passions and not frowning at a computer all day. Dan is an avid proponent of all things fun outside; hiking in the encircling state forests, canoeing on world-class streams, and rolling around in the snow pretending to cross-country ski are some of the many activities he can be found doing.

This work is on display now in the gallery space at 3 Dots Downtown! Visit during open hours (noon-5 Tuesday-Sunday) to view this and more pieces donated by local artists for this year's Art & Chocolate auction.
