For most of her life, Cynthia Nixon has lived in the quiet beauty of central Pennsylvania, where her rural studio is surrounded by meadows, farmland preserves and mountains.  This place inspires the landscape and imagery in her detailed, dreamlike paintings of plants, animals and people, where the natural and unseen worlds come together.

 She studied at Penn State (M.Ed.), Dickinson College (B.A.), and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  She is represented in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C, and the Museum of Arts & Design, New York.
