Suhru Pinot Grigio 2020
North Fork, New York, USA
Wine Advocate 88:
The 2020 Pinot Grigio is unoaked, very dry and comes in at 12% alcohol. Fruit forward and full of flavor, this manages to be very expressive while remaining crisp, elegant and lively. The nice hint of tartness and tension on the finish with the upfront fruit gives this a good balance for a summer refresher. It may hold a bit but drink it very young and very fresh for best results.
Kendall Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay 2017
Santa Barbara, California, USA
Vinous 90:
The 2017 Chardonnay Grand Reserve is a gorgeous barrel-fermented Chardonnay that offers a striking interplay of richness and the more saline notes that are typical of Santa Barbara, where 75% of this fruit is sourced. Apricot, honey, dried flowers, mint and butter notes lead into the creamy finish. The Grand Reserve is very nicely done. Drink 2019-2025.
Quinta de Soalheiro Alvarinho Granit 2019
Vinho Verde, Portugal
Wine Advocate 92:
The 2019 Alvarinho "Granit" is an unoaked Alvarinho. It is very dry (one gram of sugar and 6.6 grams of total acidity) and comes in at 13% alcohol. Sourced from vines at over 300 meters in altitude, the goal here is to be dry and crisp. Nervy, tense and tongue-tingling at times, this is a big boy in terms of structure. It is pointed and focused. It is probably the best since the 2015, granted that they are not all here together at the same time. I wonder, in fact, if this is the best Granit yet. This is a fine value if you like them a little austere, precise and energetic. Don't misunderstand, though—the next day it was very expressive, showing beautiful fruit as well. You can drink this young, but you'll be better off drinking it next year. It will hold for a decade or so, maybe quite a bit more.
Walter Scott Chardonnay La Combe Verte 2018
Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA
Cellar Tracker 90:
Transparent straw. Medium-to-medium-light body with medium acid. Lots of minerality, sea shells, and lemon lime soda, with some pear juice that became really prominent as the glass warmed up. Could easily pass for a Burgundy, showed perfectly ripe but still cool citrus fruit. Waxy texture, a healthy dose of acidity on the finish. A classically made and proportioned Chardonnay.
Calera  Chardonnay 2016
Central Coast, California, USA
Vinous 90:
The 2016 Chardonnay (Central Coast) is absolutely delicious, not to mention one of the very finest values readers will find in California Chardonnay. Orchard fruit, floral and chamomile notes are beautifully woven together, with gentle tropical inflections that add character throughout. Drink 2018-2022.
Verget Bourgogne Terres de Pierres 2015
Burgundy, France
Vinous 88:
Bright light yellow. Tangy aromas of dried apricot and spicy oak. Broad, tactile flavors of ripe stone fruits complemented by salty minerality and firm acidity. Still a bit tight but has energy.
