Description

A collection of 6 wines, specially curated for our Auction!

El Angosto 'Angosto' Tinto 2009
Valencia

Wine Advocate 91:

The 2009 Angosto is made up of equal proportions of Malbec, Garnacha Tintorera, Syrah, Graciano, and Cabernet Franc aged for 10 months in 500-liter French oak. It offers up a complex perfume made more so by a hint of balsamic. Racy raspberries enliven the palate with succulent flavor and vibrant acidity.

Vizcarra Senda del Oro Roble 2011
Ribera del Duero

Vinous 90+:

(100% tempranillo, aged in for six months in two-year-old French and American oak barrels): Bright purple. Pungent aromas and flavors of candied black and blue fruits, licorice and violet, with a smoky overtone. Sappy and expansive, finishing with impressive power and slow-mounting tannins. This wine has the depth and structure to age.

Descendientes De Jose Palacios Petalos del Bierzo 2013
Bierzo

Wine Spectator 91, Vinous 91:

Bright violet color. High-pitched red and dark berry scents are accented by hints of fresh flowers, minerals and peppery spices. Lithe, sharply focused black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors become sweeter with air while retaining very good clarity. Fine-grained tannins creep in slowly on the finish, which shows excellent thrust and spicy persistence.  Drink through 2023.

Numanthia Termes 2014
Toro

Wine Spectator 92:

Cocoa and toasty notes frame black cherry and currant flavors in this round red. Well-integrated tannins and fine acidity give this balance and focus. In the polished, modern style. Drink now through 2028.

Finca Sandoval Manchuela 2007
Castilla La Mancha , Manchuela

Wine Advocate 93, Vinous 92:

(76% syrah, 13% monastrell and 11% bobal) Glass-staining purple. Suave, finely focused aromas of dark berries, Asian spices, anise and smoky minerals, with a sexy mocha undertone. Juicy and nicely balanced, with sweet blackberry and blueberry flavors, gentle spiciness and tangy minerality. The mineral quality helps to extend the sweet, sappy finish. There's an understated, precise quality to this wine that's extremely attractive.

Terra Sanctus Clos la Rae 2014
Priorat

Vinous 91:

Inky ruby color. Highly perfumed, mineral- and spice-accented blackberry and cherry aromas, along with a subtle vanilla quality. Silky and expansive on the palate, offering sweet dark berry, cola and candied cherry flavors that are complemented by hints of cracked pepper and allspice. Finishes sweet, velvety and quite long, with subtle tannins building slowly. In the context of excellent Priorat wines this bottling delivers exceptional value.  Drink 2020 through 2027.
