Description

6 nights for 2 couples in Emilia Romagna

Fly into Milan and travel 60 miles south to spend your first 4 nights at the private Villa Colombarone (built in the 1800s) nestled among a vineyard and olive trees with breathtaking vistas. Your stay includes full access to the villa including use of the kitchen, workout equipment, etc.  Enjoy a continental breakfast each morning, a parmesan cheese factory tour and tasting, a balsamic vinegar tour and tasting, dinner at Locanda Cacciatori (a Michelin Bib Gourmand), and a lunch of wood-fired pizzas made on-site and served poolside.  The resident caretakers will ensure you are at home and well cared for in this fully restored stone villa with all the amenities of an American resort.  Be sure not to miss a day in the quaint local village of Carpaneto visiting the local pasta shop, the produce stands, and cheese purveyor. Barolo and Parma are easy day trips as well.

Drive 30 miles to stay 2 nights at a private Italian Castle, Castello di Tassara (built in the 1600s) in Val Tidone.  Enjoy dinner with La Signora and a private wine tasting.  Visit castelloditassara.com for more information.

This trip is sure to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience usually accessible only to locals. Your English-speaking Italian hosts can also arrange excursions to the #1 in the world Modena based restaurant Osteria Francescana; the Ferrari museum and test racetrack; the Pallavicino castle with a tour of the culatello storage in the dungeon; and other local restaurants, including Castello di Rivalta (Michelin starred), Taverna del Falconiere (Castell Arquato), Trattoria della Buca (Zibello).

Airfare and ground travel are not included. Must reserve 6 months in advance for Osteria Francescana. Your hosts are happy to customize your stay and day trips based on your interests. The offer expires October 31, 2023.
