About Solvang Skate Shop:
Our Story
When my 3 year old son asked for a skateboard I was super excited, I have been skating for about 30 years with a few breaks for injury recovery, work and family of course. Ace and I took off to the closest shop about 45 minutes from home, he picked out a new complete, helmet, pads and we headed home. About 20 minutes into the drive home I thought “ what a bummer for the local skaters who don’t drive!” Most parents have a busy schedule and can’t make 1 1/2 hour round trips for skate stuff. I remember the skate shops when I grew up as a place to hang out and be part of the culture and these guys in the valley didn’t have that. I decided that night after talking to my wife I would open up Solvang Skate Shop, we’re a core skate shop, we don’t carry other sporting goods we’re dedicated to our past time. Everyone is always welcome at the shop I want to support and grow our local skate community, give the kids a positive place to hang out and get what they need to stay on the grind ( pun intended ) So please come say what’s up, check out the shop, talk some stories and have a good time! -B
