Henry David Thoreau: The Man Who Escaped from the Herd, by Charles J. Finger. Haldeman-Julius Company, 1922. 64 pp. Small-sized pamphlet, placed into old library archival binder. Pamphlet is aged but in good condition. Publication includes several illustrations, including two Thoreau portraits, a view of Thoreau's cove, a view of the Yellow House (Thoreau-Alcott house). Binder carries bookplate of former owner, Clifton Joseph Furness. Someone wrote the title on the front of the binder. Someone also wrote a bit inside in red pencil. Furness (1898-1946) taught at a variety of colleges and was an expert on Walt Whitman. Part of the Ten Cent Pocket Series, No. 339.
