The original publication encompassed Volume Five of the 5-volume set, Thoreau's Complete Works. The set was a condensed edition of Houghton Mifflin's storied 20-volume set of Thoreau's writings that was released in 1906. The first book contains all of the "Excursions" text plus 21 poems. The second book reprints the "Familiar Letters" text compiled and edited by Frank Sanborn. If you don't have copies of the originals, these accurate reprints will serve you well. They're in good condition.
