Handcrafted by RMRP Assistant Director Lisa Winta. Basket is 6" round and 6" tall. Bottom center is agate. Owl fetish is clay. Beads are glass and ethically sourced horn. 


Pine needle basketry is an ancient form of craft utilized by indigenous people to make functional items.


About: Lisa Winta


Lisa Winta is an artist, a dreamer, a naturalist, a raptor lover, a collector of rocks and natural objects, and a Colorado native.  She has a Bachelor's of Fine Art from Colorado State University. For over 25 years, she has been working for the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, a Northern Colorado non-profit that rehabilitates injured raptors and provides environmental education. She works in a variety of media, including fiber arts, photography, painting, beading, jewelry making, and most recently pine needle basketry. When she has free time she can be found creating any number of art pieces. That is when she is not out looking for rocks and inspiration in wild places.
