"Wesley the Owl" by Stacey O'Brien. Don't be fooled by the somewhat sappy subtitle of this book, it is a remarkable read about the relationship between a biologist and the barn owl she took into her home to study. It is a great story of the bond that developed between the two of them, but it is also a story about what she learned about owl behavior over the years he lived with her. 

"Owls of the Eastern Ice: A Quest to Find and Save the World's Largest Owl" by  Jonathan C. Slaght . This book is a fascinating story of one American man's work to study the Blakiston's fish owls of eastern Russia. What makes it even more interesting is the information you learn about the rugged residents of the area including the lumbermen who have come to value the owls who live among them.
