James (Jim) Rice was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 26, 2009. He spent his entire 16-year Major League Baseball career with the Boston Red Sox (1974-1989). Rice had his number retired by the Red Sox in 2009, and is a member of the Red Sox Hall of Fame.


Rice is an 8x All-Star, a 2x Silver Slugger, 3x AL home run leader, and the 1978 American League MVP. Rice is the only player in MLB history to lead the league in home runs, RBIs, and triples in the same year. From 1975-1986, Rice led the AL in total games played, at bats, runs scored, hits, homers, RBIs, slugging percentage, total bases, extra base hits, go-ahead RBIs, multi-hit games, and outfield assists.
