Fourth Grade: "GRACE Eagle"--oil pastel squares on canvas (24"x36" horizontal)
Fourth-grade students learned about complementary color schemes and worked together to create an image of an eagle in our GRACE colors, orange and blue. Students examined the grid art of Chuck Close and Kandinsky, both of whom created artwork that incorporated concentric shapes inside of squares on a grid. In a similar way, students created abstract lines and shapes within grid squares using blue and orange oil pastels. When combined, the individual pieces come together to make a beautiful work of art!
