Jerold O'Brien has organically farmed the vineyard at Silver Mountain and supported sustainable practices since he founded the winery in 1979. In 2007, Silver Mountain constructed the largest solar system in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The “Triple Green” canopy and 46kw solar array that cover the winery will reduce energy requirements, save resources including rainwater, make Silver Mountain entirely energy self-sufficient and generate extra energy to the power grid.
