The Costco Shop card works like a gift certificate and is treated like cash. Costco members can use the Shop Card, or it can be gifted to someone who is not a Costco member.

You do not need to be a Costco member to shop with the Shop Card - just show the card to the attendant at the door.

You may use the card for gas, but be careful - if your gas purchase exceeds the card value, you will need a Costco membership card to continue with a different payment method.

The Costco Shop Card can be reloaded by a Costco member.
