"When I first glimpsed, from a distance, the Musk Ox herd in Palmer, Alaska, I felt like I was transported back to the ice age. The magnificent beasts were fantastic! Since I was at the Musk Ox Farm, where they live a cared-for life so their qiviut (silky soft and warm underfur) can be gently combed for fiber, I got to see the Arctic goat-like creatures close up. They looked just so cozy! And my new book was on its way."
