A stunning piece of smoky quartz (measuring about 3 1/2" X 3" X 2") from Lin Ottinger's Moab Rock Shop. Smoky quartz is thought to assist in improving overall well being, the release of unwanted emotional baggage, surrendering old wounds, stability, and grounding.  

Lin Ottinger started selling rocks in Moab in 1958 and established the Moab Rock Shop in 1968. Lin's knowledge of rocks, minerals, & fossils, along with his discoveries, has earned him the title of The Dinosaur Man. 

At least FOUR species of dinosaurs were found by him - including Saurapods (Apatosaurus / Brachiosaurus), Euoplocephalus, Utahraptor, and Iguanodon Ottingeri. Since this was the first Iguanodon found in the US, it is named after shop owner, Lin Ottinger. Many of his discoveries have been donated to museums & universities, including BYU in Provo, UT.

The shop specializes in dinosaur bone, petrified wood, crystals, mineral specimens, fossils and meteorites.
