Bottle #1: McPrice Myers Beautiful Earth Paso Robles Marionberry, dark leather, smoked plums, blueberry/peach cobbler, acacia flower, lavender creme brûlée, red-eye gravy, violet, ripe olive, hoisin, currant paste, and melted licorice. Broad, weighty, and plush on the palate with a densely packed finish. 

Bottle #2 : The Fontanabianca 2018 Barbaresco is taut and elegant, showing the kind of bright primary fruit that should accompany this wine as it begins and completes its aging. The wine is very silky and fine, and it shows a nuanced texture that gives this bottle its competitive edge. 

Bottle #3: The Walking Fool is a silky scarlet red blend, aged for 18 months in American &French oak. Opens with scents of rustic wood, sweet spices, a whiff of cigar, ripe strawberries & cherry. Palate is smooth & lively with flavors of raspberry, cranberry and espresso. 

Bottle #4: Amancaya Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of red currants and plums, and a little bit of mint and cedar. Notes of vanilla, spices and mocha. The texture is pleasant and balanced with refined and gentle tannins and a soft finish. 

Bottle #5: E. Guigal Crozes-Hermitage: This might be Guigal’s most underrated bottle—a wine of power, balance, and character from Robert Parker’s “planet’s greatest winemaker.” Rhône expert Jeb Dunnuck “loved” the 2018 Crozes, a bottle that holds its own in Guigal’s world-class lineup.
