Guests will enjoy a privately hosted Tour and Tasting, including an excursion through the 750 acre Knights Valley estate and up the slopes of Mount St. Helena to a 2,000 elevation vista point, offering guests a rare view of Sonoma’s Knights Valley. Upon returning to the winery, guests will savor an intimate tasting of Peter Michael wines.

Since 1982, the Michael family along with a history of acclaimed winemakers and viticulturists has realized their vision to produce limited production, estate wines of exceptional quality, reflective of the unique terroir of Peter Michael Winery. The signature wine, ‘Les Pavots’ (The Poppies) Cabernet Sauvignon blend, is sourced from the Knights Valley estate-grown on the western face of Mount St. Helena at an elevation of 1,000 ft. Only 200 cases of 2013 ‘Les Pavots’ magnums were bottled of this highly acclaimed vintage—a blend of estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. 

Sir Peter started Peter Michael Winery in 1983 with a singular vision: to make wine in the terroir-driven tradition of Burgundy and Bordeaux, under the California sun and in California soil.

Today, we make fifteen wines in four varietal categories. All but one are estate-grown in our mountainside vineyards, and all are crafted by hand and in limited production.
