"These colors come to me from my trips to my favorite escape St Barth. Whatever is going on in my life I just want to dream of the sunset going down on that turquoise water."
Diane Detalle is a French-born American based painter who embodies the dual traditions of European and American abstract art. Detalle works on the floor, "which gives me a better perspective to balance the movements, colors and textures." She describes her process as unpredictable and idiosyncratic. "Where am I going with this white piece of canvas? It's like writing a story without knowing the ending - it begins to appear in front of you, it's a surprise, it's magic."
