Artist's Statement:

In painting, I seek the process that takes me to another time and place, using my technique strongly as an anchor. When things are good, the painting experience is like a journey. It can start at one place and end up at a very different place, providing a soulful feeling of transformation.

I have rich and diverse interests, with a background that lends an imaginative catalog of ideas. In healing arts, holistic health, and dance, it all is through the figure: the body provides a gateway for my paintings. The symbolism of universal and personal truths using animals and humans, as seen in archival sacred art around the world, fascinates me.

After leaving a formal teacher-student atelier, I began developing my creative sight: closing my eyes to see what I could see, in quieter states of mind, with the intention to capture it on canvas. My hope is to make the world a better place. As my consciousness expands, so my compositions expand to new depths. I am more excited about my work than I have ever been and realize the depths are fathomless.
