Micro (micro is the new Big Time) Marathon!
Please start stretching and doing necessary pre-race calisthenics ASAP, because this race will be Big Time. As in Big Time, we don’t mean what all of those “marathon junkies” brag about at the Village Tap after the Chicago Marathon, we mean Big Time as in we will ROCK this run all the way from the Lane Tech campus to the Roscoe Village Pub! Who needs to run 26.219 miles with cramps and injuries, when we can run .4 miles from Lane to the Roscoe Village Pub with no injuries (if you get one, just don’t tell us, we don’t have race insurance). In fact, it’s so short, we’re calling it a Micro-Marathon! While we work on the race course and bib pick-up, we ask that you save the date for our first Lane Tech Micro-Marathon on September 17 at 6p.m. We’ll meet at Lane and run the grueling course to RVP for much deserved beer, snacks, pizza, and any other carb we can think of to replace all of the calories we have burned. We’ve got you covered with some sharp looking sweatbands. Running themed costumes highly encouraged (if you have to ask us what a running themed costume is…well, just don’t). Be there, or you just won’t have as much fun as the rest of us that night (all you people with FOMO better sign up quick, slots are very limited. Micheal Johnson already tried to buy a ticket and we told him no since he’d probably beat us and just be a major buzz kill to our evening).
