Description

Artist: Thaddea Kuchera

Throughout my life, I’ve always had a watchful eye,” said Thaddea B. Kuchera when asked about the start of her career as an artist, “observing people, places and things made me notice how sunlight, shadow, color and shape define everything we see.”  Thaddea’s paintings are suffused with soft light and convey a sensitive approach to her subject matter of still life and landscape.

Kuchera has studied with respected New Jersey artists such as Joe Hing Lowe and John P. Osborne.  A member of the Art Students League in New York, she was able to learn technique from renowned artists such as Mary Beth McKenzie, Costa Vavagiakis and Leonid Gervits.  Thaddea was admitted also to the prestigious Copyist Program at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and enjoyed painting chosen masterpieces in the galleries.  She is consistently reaching for a higher level of expression and is always perfecting her technique. Thaddea B. Kuchera has been honored for her work by the Pastel Society of America, the American Artists’ Professional League and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Today, Thaddea resides in Orleans and takes classes at the Creative Arts Center in Chatham, MA, and serves on this organization’s Board of Directors.  Currently, her work is on exhibit at the Cape Cod Museum of Art’s exhibit “All the World’s a Stage” until July 25,2022.
