Alexander Ovechkin is regarded as one of the greatest ice hockey players of the modern NHL. Ovechkin is considered by many to be one of the greatest goal scorers in the history of the NHL. In 2017, Ovechkin was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players of all-time. Ovechkin won his first Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018 over the Vegas Golden Knights, also winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs.
