Description
A beautiful wood sculpture "Kui Poi La'au" or poi pounder with koa pedestal. Made from Milo wood from Kekaha, Kauai by Master Woodworker Ray Nitta. "Kui Poi La'au" measures 5 1/2 inches x 9 1/2 inches high with pedestal. (Poi Pounder 5 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches height, pedestal 4 inches by 4 inches by 4 inches height)
The heart of the master is felt in every stroke onto the wood.
Ray Nitta is a wood craftsman and artisan residing in Kekaha, Kauai. An erstwhile teacher he is still active in enrichment programs at various schools on the west side of the island. He has exhibited his work internationally. Ray is a board member of Lawai International Center.
