In a ten-under-par sudden-death playoff with Louis Oosthuizen, on the 10th hole Watson was able to execute a miraculous recovery shot, after his ball landed in the woods. The shot landed him ten feet from the hole, and he took his time on the last putt and made it an emotional victory.
