Created and crafted by the Nation of Hawaii Saw Mill. This board for pounding food, papa kuiai, is inspired by the poi pounder, or pohaku kuiai. Made out of Monkeypod in a traditional shape of carved stone implements that were once the foundation of enjoying a meal. This papa kuiai features it’s own seat, a large amount of work space and textured dimple pattern wrapping around the board. Perfect for a family or someone who wants to integrate more kalo (taro) and ulu (breadfruit) into your diet. Designed to be actively used and handed down for generations. It is a centerpiece for creating better health and wellness for anyone who uses it.
