Timothy Welsh is a multi-media artist working in paint, collage, drawing and photography. His pieces contain a wide variety of subject matter. For the past few years his paintings have centered on geometric abstraction, the titles often reference a starting-off point, but the work is mainly non-objective. Welsh enjoys working on a small scale and pattern, repetition and precision all play an equal role in his works. Welsh is continuing his exploration of overall patterning, while toying with the idea of a believable space, utilizing flat tones and a limited amount of shapes. Math-based objects are then scattered over the patterns to interrupt and enhance the three-dimensional illusion.
