Rosemarie Manson studies at the EastSide Art Center. She is a member of the RI Watercolor Society, the AAM, the E. G. Art Club and Wickford Art Association. As part of her artistic development, she has been experimenting with a variety of water media, papers and surfaces. She also prints monotypes using a GelliĀ® Plate.

Capturing emotion, interpreting nature and transforming realism continue to be the driving forces in her journey as an artist. Among the stark, lifeless, exterior of cement city buildings is a lone tree. It allows us to hope that birds and other animals will enliven the community and bring pleasant sounds to surround us. The artist applied color on the canvas board and using her self-made stencils, outlined buildings, leaving them unfinished to create space. The cityscape lacked life, the tree was the element needed.
