John Murphrey has been an artist all his life. He is an officer of Shrewsbury Artist Guild and member of Friends of Fenway Artist Group. Murphrey is a former member of 30 Town Riverside Art Association and former owner of Gallery 1019 in Tiverton RI. He is a current member of the Bellingham, MA un-official artist group.

This painting depicts the hills of Petaluma, CA - wine country - as seen from the Petaluma Vineyards.
