Carolyn Hagy Kent is a RISD alumna. She was artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center and the Golden Apple. The artist has exhibited at the Vets (RI); Newport Art Museum; AAM and Warwick Center for the Arts. Solo shows include Reliable Gold; Bank RI; Dryden Gallery and AS220. The artist is an Associate Member of the Lyme Art Association (CT), AAM and the Warwick Center for the Arts.
"Ancient Hands" was a piece near and dear to the artist. She, unlike many other artists, enjoys rendering hands, and especially enjoyed rendering these ancient hands of the elderly.
