Roberta Masciarelli is a Brazilian born visual artist based in Dallas, TX. Holding a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from Mackenzie University, São Paulo, Brazil, she uses recycled material for her assemblages. She displayed her artworks at several museums in the US receiving the following awards: the 92th SAALM Sculpture Award (2022), a Merit Award at the AAM's Members' Exhibit (2021), the 90th SAALM 3D Award (2020) and the 3D Cat - 1st Prize at the Tifton Arts Museum.

"Hope" was created using an antique Islamic mosaic wooden box with inlays of bone and mother of pearl. As the title states, it carries a peace message: "I hope that one day the religion wars and division between countries and cultures will be in the past – and the world will embrace a period of peace." This work was displayed at the "Waging Peace! Art Exhibit" at the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts in Tallahassee, FL (2018).
