Mitchell Kaplan specializes in acrylic, watercolor and charcoal mediums. He has recently exhibited at the Warwick Public Library, the Warwick Art Museum, and a Providence Public Gallery. He is also a well-known musician and has been involved in several movies, commercials and television. He was an art and music educator for many years.

"Flowers" was inspired by a garden in Maine, Mitchell captured a photo and painted this piece when returning home to his studio. Bright yellows and reds dominate the floral scenery with a beautiful blue sky in the background.
