After trying a variety of mediums, artist Beverly Silva discovered the joy of mixed media collage. Each day in her studio, she experiments on her own, developing several ongoing series. Her urban landscapes are inspired by her many years of living and working in the city. Beverly is an elected artist of the Art League of RI, and a member of AAM, Pawtucket Arts Collaborative, and Warwick Center for the Arts. She frequently exhibits in group and open juried shows.

"City Blues" is part of a series of abstract urban landscapes created by artist Beverly Silva. Built intuitively with geometric shapes, limited palette and an abundance of texture, her mixed media cityscapes are narrative works that chronicle her visceral response to her surroundings. They do not portray a specific location, but seek to capture the sights, sounds and essence of the urban environment.
