This is a wonderful saltwater experience in the heart of Wine Country.

You'll be hosted by Captain Patrick MacKenzie on his Boston Whaler for a day of Striped Bass fishing.  Patrick's company, MacKenzie on the Fly, specializes in Bass fishing on the Napa River and uses his extensive knowledge of the river, bay, tides and fish location equipment to help clients find and catch fish including BIG FISH.  See the photos.

Patrick is able to target Striped Bass 12 months out of the year, but he focuses on two specific ocean - freshwater "runs: (1) The Fall Run from September to November when the mature fish come back from their summer spent in the ocean and (2) The Spring Run at the end of March to May after the adult fish have completed spawning and are there way back to the ocean.  The river also has resident fish year round that do not follow this migration.  So anglers have great fishing opportunities throughout the year.

Patrick's Napa River trips are geared toward the intermediate-advanced angler who can cast proficiently and is comfortable in a boat.  Lunch, all necessary gear, terminal tackle and flies are provided.  Anglers can bring their 8 weight gear if preferred.  The Napa River trips start from Cutting Wharf Boat Launch on the Napa River.
