Description
Two handwoven Zulu Ukhamba basket pots, one with lid, made by the people of Zululand, Natal, South Africa. These were utilitarian and could be used to store a variety of grains or other items. They are tightly woven and generally watertight. Made from indigenous materials, usually ilala palm. The zigzag pattern on these baskets represents the masculine: "The Assegais of Shaka".
