Janie and her daughter, Patricia “Patty” Huggins, always knew they wanted to run a tea house/cafe. But they never expected to run a restaurant/bed-and-breakfast in the most famous historical mansion in the heart of Texas’ oldest town.

 Since opening in April 2021, Pemberley’s at the Jones House has become a downtown staple, a favored spot for clubs and organizations to have meetings and for tourists staying at the B&B while visiting Nacogdoches.

“It’s something that Nacogdoches really — we didn’t have anything like this, and it could really use it,” Patty said. “It’s something a little more formal. It’s not fast food or chain restaurant so it’s something that we were very adamant about doing. We hung in there, and now we have this. And we’re so happy and proud. And it’s one of the show pieces of Nacogdoches — I think so.”
