"Wheels of a Dream," Ragtime's soul-stirring ballad originally sung by Tony Award winners Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell, is inspiring to all who listen. In the Tony-nominated musical, McDonald and Mitchell portray Sarah and Coalhouse Walker Jr., two Black Americans who are navigating life in early 20th century Harlem. The pair's powerful voices singing the soaring melodies of Stephen Flaherty coupled with Lynn Ahrens' rousing lyrics have cemented the song as a pillar of musical theater. 

McDonald and Mitchell, who reunited to sing the tune at the 74th Tony Awards in 2021, signed this handwritten phrase along with Flaherty and Ahrens.
