Description

In 1981, Academy Award-winning icon Elizabeth Taylor made her long-awaited Broadway debut in The Little Foxes at the Martin Beck Theatre (now the Al Hirschfeld Theatre). Not only was she a tour de force from the stage to the silver screen, she was also one of the first celebrities to take part in HIV/AIDS activism. She co-founded the American Foundation for AIDS Research, or AmFAR, in 1985 and later created The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation to provide direct care and support to the most vulnerable patients.

Signed by Taylor, this framed portrait was taken by renowned photographer Rivka Katvan, one of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' most ardent champions. Since 1993, she has donated more than 80 extraordinary portraits of Broadway's most beloved stars, helping raise more than $250,000 for Broadway Cares.

Take home this stunning original portrait of Taylor, an American icon, captured right before her first entrance in The Little Foxes.
