Shadowbrook, founded in 1947, is a unique restaurant known for its "romance in dining." The restaurant is housed in a log cabin that was originally built in the 1920s as a summer home and later enlarged by an English family. After the home was abandoned, the restaurant's original partners restored the structure over three years and opened for dinner in 1947. The restaurant added a cable car in 1958, a cupola entry and deck by the river in 1972, and became open year-round. In 1978, the current owners purchased Shadowbrook and added a comfortable outside cocktail deck and enclosed the outside dining patio in a greenhouse setting two years later.

Dining: Shadowbrook accepts reservations up to 30 days in advance for dinner service. Credit card guarantee required for parties of six or more. Reservations are recommended, but not required. Walk-ins cheerfully accepted.
