Description

Remains of Winter, mp2

Vegetation collagraph, oil inks on Japanese unryu paper, 2022.

Dimension: 12"x12"

This unique monoprint (mp) has a blue violet surface with subtle multivalued hues of light blue, muted reds and buff within the vegetation. It is from a group of works that play with the 19th century tradition of flower pressing for remembrance and identification. The work is hand pulled through the press multiple times, to achieve an evocative slightly embossed surface of Wyoming Yarrow that survived winter to remain in the spring. The image is simply and archivally presented in a white frame to size.
