A Fisherman's Peace |  This bass features an image of a fisherman enjoying the tranquility of a catch at dusk.

This painting is acrylic on one side, finished with resin and polycrylic. It is inspired by a photograph by Robert Ball of R. Ball Photography (he is also the ice cream maker for Mad Martha's; the sponsor of this bass). The back of the bass is a collage with an homage to the derby, MV arts, and Mad Martha's; it features clipping from the start of this years derby and the art section of the MV Times.

Artist:  Jasmine Thompson

Jasmine K Thompson is the owner of Jazen's Art Studio on Martha's Vineyard, where she creates art, makes jewelry, and teaches art parties. Her paintings art primarily acrylic, and often have a touch of mixed media, while her jewelry is primarily made with copper and sand from all around the world. Jasmine received her BFA in Art Educations from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
