The FieldScout TCM 500 NDVI Turf Color Meter measures turf color (quality) from a 3-inch (7.6 cm) diameter lens on the bottom of the meter. The meter measures reflected light in the red (660nm) and near-infrared (850 nm) spectral bands. The LCD diplay shows the NDVI value and the Grass Color Index (user adjustable) from 1 to 9. Equipped with an internal data logger and RS-232 port. Connects to any GPS receiver that has a serial port and an output cable. Records 3,250 measurements (1,350 with GPS coordinates). Upload data to SpecConnect and view measurements on Google Maps. Use this meter to determine when to apply nitrogen to your turfgrass.  Helps diagnose turf health based on color measurement so you can better manage stress in the early stages.
