Do you have a child dreaming of making a difference in our community? Do you have a child preparing for a career in public service? Well how does being "Mayor for the Day" sound?
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for your son or daughter to help run a Pleasant Hill City Council meeting, get to know Mayor Tim Flaherty, and learn about local government.
Your lucky child will start the evening with a tour of City Hall followed by dinner with Mayor Flaherty and your family in a downtown restaurant. Then, after reviewing the City Council meeting agenda, the Mayor for the Day will call the meeting to order, do the roll call, and run the first 30 minutes of the meeting together with Mayor Flaherty. Your child will also receive a gift bag with Pleasant Hill souvenirs along with a certificate and a DVD of the City Council meeting.
