Virgil Thrasher is a native of California, born in 1943. He is primarily a self-taught artist. He started experimenting with printmaking in 1958. Northern and central California landscaped and marine scenes are the constant themes in his work. His graphics have been displayed in numerous galleries and private collections throughout the United States.
