Neural Logic: Blue Dog Dreams is part of the Neural Networks series of glass, artworks that grew out of my personal experience with Lymphoma, successfully vanquished at PCI here on Maui. Evolving from reflective meditations on cell shapes, interconnection, microbes and bio-realms, I was inspired to make flexible, supportive networks of healing cells, in glass, as a model for healing the fragile body and mind. 
 
The small glass torch-work components soon included varieties of dream-like images, sea references, animals and figures, a collage and Rorschach for the viewer. My hope is the work inspires fresh connections and daily perspectives. The network of interlocked glass forms bound with copper capillary tubes creates a field of color-projected shadows. The easily-mounted lightweight work generates layers of buzzing energy for your enjoyment. 
 
Bio Notes: Karl Hensel has been working with Glass Artwork and Design for years. His sculpture has been included in Corning Museum of Glass annual survey of top works in glass. He has received a Pennsylvania State Council on the Art Fellowship, has shown in galleries in New York. He is represented on Maui at the FS Artists Showcase and at island-based galleries. 
 
Other significant bodies of work explore large scale construction of Wave Forms, collaged Abstract Color Panel designs, and human head profile designs.
