Join Hawaii Forest & Trail for an all-around Hawaiian adventure into the heart of the North Kohala countryside. North Kohala is a land of old sugar plantations, Hawaiian legends, and natural beauty. The excursion begins with a scenic drive through the Kohala countryside. Our private loop trail offers two streams, several waterfalls, and three bridges, plus ancient Hawaiian terraces and flumes along the famous Kohala Ditch. After your hike, enjoy a deli-style picnic lunch at our exclusive Pololu Valley coastline overlook. Hiking through lush forest and a chance to swim in a private mountain stream with cascading falls overhead? That’s a perfect day in paradise!

Tour Time: Morning departure; approximately 6-7 hours. Dress Code: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes, a hat, swimsuit under clothes. Please bring a reusable water bottle.

Activity: Guests must be able to hike across uneven terrain. (1-2 miles). Optional waterfall swim. Picnic lunch at a private overlook.

Restrictions:
- Physical: Guests should be able to walk over uneven and muddy terrain. Doctor’s approval required for all expecting mothers due to the risks of off-road driving.
- Age: For adventure seekers of all ages! Booster seats required for children under 8 years of age. Carriers required for children under 3 years of age.
