Hello, my name is Khloe and I live in Ottawa. I have lived in Ottawa for 11 years. I am a student at St. Philip Catholic School and I am 11 years old.

We created beautiful paintings with the amazing artist, Katerina Mertikas because we will be auctioning off the paintings for charity! My top favourite thing about my painting is the one tree in the middle.

We created this because we have been investigating how to paint and learn different techniques to use in future paintings.

I am currently intrigued by the way Katerina paints and all of the techniques she uses in her gorgeous paintings. I have always been fascinated by art and what the progress looks like. 

I have recently taken an interest in doing more art, and we used colour to show that it/the paintings were a winter scene. Through the artistic process I realized that you need to take your time more often. I hope that after people see our art they will be inspired by the techniques and colours of the paintings.

To me our artwork means that there are so many different beautiful places in the world that we can make by painting them with our imaginations. I am challenged by the techniques and paint strokes but I still enjoyed painting with her!

I hope that when I paint in the future I can learn from this experience with Katerina Mertikas and my class and still have fun while painting.
