Artist Statement

Hello, my name is Amelia and I am in grade 6, and I go to St.Philip Cathlic school. My family is originally from Toronto, but we moved to Richmond, Ontario 6 years ago. I have always loved painting and doing art projects so I was really excited to start working on this painting.  I created this painting because I wanted people to feel like they are in a sunny winter day with bright blue skies. I used bright and calm colors to paint my painting, but I used yellow for my house. Part of the reason I wanted to use yellow is because yellow is one of our school colors and I wanted to make sure I had it in my painting. To me my painting means a lot. It took a lot of time and effort and I am very proud of it.
